The Mission Position recently celebrated its 4th anniversary and 1 year at our new home in the Mission at The Alamo Drafthouse! This month with the return of headliner Ramon Rivas II (Comedy Central Half Hour)!
The Mission Position brings the best comedians to the Alamo Drafthouse theater for a live comedy show that provides club-level talent without a drink minimum. Hosted by two of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians, Adrian McNair and Irene Tu (featured on Viceland, KQED, Seeso, SF Sketchfest and Bridgetown Comedy Festival). Every month The Mission Position puts together a new lineup of special guests that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.
Headliner: Ramon Rivas II (Comedy Central Half Hour)
RAMON RIVAS is a stand up comedian and eminent latino from Cleveland, OH now residing in Los Angeles. Resonating a low-fi swag with a fine taste in jokes, juices and dope sandwiches, Ramon made a name for himself by spending time in Chicago, New York & Los Angeles while building up the independent comedy scene in Cleveland through his ACCIDENTAL COMEDY productions, performing as often as possible for a gently employed stoner. In 2016, he recorded his television debut, an episode on the 2016 season of THE HALF HOUR with COMEDY CENTRAL. Rivas was one of 17 artists selected, an outlier from the middle of the country, an independent artist they selected when Ramon had no manager or agent. Ramon has since appeared on @MIDNIGHT (winning July 21), MTV Decoded, VICELAND & made his acting debut on S4E3 of BROAD CITY and will appear in the upcoming season of HBO’s CRASHING. He also joined the management team at BRILLSTEIN ENTERTAINMENT. He still doesn’t have an agent.
As seen on Comedy Central, called “amazing” by The Laugh Button, “bleakly hilarious” by The AV Club. “highly original” by Penthouse Magazine, a “Gem” by RE:Com Chicago Comedy magazine, “Nothing short of impressive” by Ground Control Magazine, “Killing it” by the Chicago Tribune, “hilarious” by Westword, “Fearless” by ComedyofChicago.com, “starkly original” and “impressive and refreshing” by Creative Loafing, Sean White was just listed as one of the top 16 comics in Chicago by Chicago Magazine “with jokes that look misery straight in the eye” and has been performing over 11 years in clubs across 3 countries.
