The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by five of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, Torio Van Grol & Adrian McNair. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.

This Weeks Guests:

Andrew Holmgren

andrew holmgrenComedian Andrew Holmgren embodies a rare combination of humility and good looks rarely seen before on this planet. The laid-back jokester performs with a certain reverence for irreverence and his succinct, clever sense of humor has caused people to call him a smart-ass more times than he cares to remember. Holmgren comes to party, based out of San Francisco, he was named one of 2013’s “comics to watch” by SF Weekly and was named “Best Comedian” in 2014 by the same publication. Andrew produces the popular San Francisco comedy showcase ‘Get Yucked Up’, he performs all over the country and has appeared at SF Sketchfest, Savage Henry Comedy Festival and The Sacramento Comedy Fest, where he was named best visiting comedian. He’s also got great hair.

Scott Capurro

5_scott_capurroScott Capurro was reared in Daly City, California; at age 3, he swam the English Channel. Since 1993, he’s avoided AIDS by telling unsavory jokes in every English speaking country. Scott is trusting and thus surrounded by duplicity, yet he continues challenging himself, because he’s physically challenged and emotionally unstable. Described by San Francisco Weekly (free press, edited by lesbians and designed by trannys with large hands and hidden agendas) as “stand-up in the very best possible sense – deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious”

Scott has appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire, where, effortlessly, he played a homosexual; and Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where, breathlessly, he wore a body stocking.  Scott knows David Cameron (wink, wink) and Nelson Mandela. Well, he’s met Nelson once. They’re both vegetarians. Actually, Scott is. Nelson said he was, to impress Scott. Cameron eats anything.

He has also graced the stage at venues such as The Comedy Store & The San Jose Improv.
