The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by four of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, & Torio Van Grol. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.
Motor City native Karinda Dobbins was born into a politically active family of skilled storytellers and sharp wits. Her worldview was shaped by their accounts of protest, civil rights and empowerment, weighty subjects that were always leavened with humor. Whenever she heard the grownups laughing long past her bedtime, she took that as her cue to sneak out of her room and eavesdrop while they entertained themselves with Richard Pryor records. She not only listened, she learned, and grew up to hold her own as a keen comedic commentator.
Natasha Muse is a comedian, a skeptic, a mom, and at least the second-funniest transsexual you know. Her cerebral writing, whimsical wordplay, and unique perspective on life have earned her the adoration of audiences and the respect of her peers. Natasha performs regularly all over the Bay Area, including Cobb’s Comedy, the SF Punchline, and the Actors’ Theatre, where she produces and hosts “A Funny Night for Comedy” on the second Sunday of every month. Natasha is the winner of the 2010 Battle of the Bay competition, Miss Toolbox 2011, and also took home the Miss Photogenic trophy in Model Search 2004.
