The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by four of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, & Torio Van Grol. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.

This Weeks Guests:

Kristin Ryan

kristin ryanOriginally from Northeastern Wisconsin, Kristin uses her small town realism and blue collar family experience to guide her comedy. Her comedy also includes a lot of things bored punk kids do in small towns. She is multidimensional, a feminist that loves Van Halen. An eternal optimist, she has worked in progressive politics for the past ten years as a community and labor organizer. Kristin’s sense of humor is the perfect blend of a Midwestern girl next door and the voice in your head that says the stuff you’re afraid you might get drunk enough to post on Facebook.

Scott Capurro

scott capurroScott Capurro was reared in Daly City, California; at age 3, he swam the English Channel. Since 1993, he’s avoided AIDS by telling unsavory jokes in every English speaking country. Scott is trusting and thus surrounded by duplicity, yet he continues challenging himself, because he’s physically challenged and emotionally unstable. Described by San Francisco Weekly (free press, edited by lesbians and designed by trannys with large hands and hidden agendas) as “stand-up in the very best possible sense – deadpan, ever-alert and hilarious”

Scott has appeared in Mrs. Doubtfire, where, effortlessly, he played a homosexual; and Star Wars: Phantom Menace, where, breathlessly, he wore a body stocking.  Scott knows David Cameron (wink, wink) and Nelson Mandela. Well, he’s met Nelson once. They’re both vegetarians. Actually, Scott is. Nelson said he was, to impress Scott. Cameron eats anything.
