The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by four of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, & Torio Van Grol. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.

Named one of the Bay Area’s “Top 5 Comedians to Watch” by the San Jose Mercury News Kaseem Bentley is a African American comic from San Francisco who brings style and class to stand-up comedy with his unique and razor sharp observations. .
Kaseem Bentley has been steadily making a name for himself across the Bay Area. . His powerful stage presence and receptive persona will quickly shift the vibe of any room and place and leave the audience wanting more. He has performed at the clubs across the Bay Area including the Purple Onion, Rooster T. Feathers, and the San Francisco Punchline.
Shanti Charan’s bubbly personality and contagious smile lure in audiences and her comedic abilities keeps them laughing. She is a fast-rising fresh face in the Bay Area comedy scene. Her ability to formulate quick connections makes it easy for her to communicate with diverse audiences. She won 1st place in the 2011 Rooster T Feather’s Comedy Competition and participated in the 2011 San Francisco International Comedy Competition where she advanced to the semi-finals. Charan was recently awarded SF Weekly’s 2012 Best Stand-Up on the Way Up. SF Weekly says Charan’s writing “is clever and confident beyond her years.”
Nato Green was summed up more or less accurately by The East Bay Express as, “erudite and acerbic, a San Francisco-raised father, union organizer, gastronome, bibliophile, and political sparkplug.” His podcast The Nato Sessions is produced by 3200 Stories. His first comedy album, The Nato Green Party, was released by Rooftop Comedy. Nato has been named San Francisco’s Best Comedian by the SF Weekly, Huffington Post, and CBS.
Nato is the creator of Iron Comic, the Iron Chef-spoofing comedy game show he co-hosts with Moshe Kasher. Nato has a regular column in the San Francisco Examiner, and his humor commentaries have appeared in VICE, Truthdig, Huffington Post, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Rumpus, and The Bold Italic. He also hosts FSFSF, a short spotlight on Bay Area comedy that airs every weekday during NPR’s All Things Considered on 91.7FM KALW. Nato wrote for Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell on FX and toured nationally with W. Kamau Bell & Janine Brito as Laughter Against the Machine.
