The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by five of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, Richard Toomer & Torio Van Grol. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.

This Weeks Guests:
Allison Mick is an Oakland-based comedian originally from Rochester, NY. Her comedy tackles topics like race, gender, and fast food, and can be seen monthly as part of the Vice Principals of Comedy showcases in San Francisco. She’s been written about on earmilk.com and has performed in such festivals as San Francisco Sketchfest and the S.H.I.T.s and Giggles Comedy Festival in Humboldt County, California.
Phil Griffiths is a native of the UK. Luckily, when he was a young boy his family realized the weather there is complete shit and moved to the Bay Area… where they quickly realized that if they really cared about the weather, they should have moved to Los Angeles. So, young Phil grew up impersonating an average American Boy, eschewing a British accent despite the fact it would have really helped him pick up chicks, deceiving friends and family for years until becoming a citizen in 2012. (DUAL citizen – take that CIA Watchlist!) After honing his comedy craft for years on private audiences (very, very private audiences of one, in his bathroom, alone, with his “thoughts”), Phil decided to start performing in front of audiences of living, breathing people. As far as mid-life crisis go, Phil’s wife stacks his career in stand up comedy as better than a drug addiction but worse than him having a mistress. Phil was a finalist in the 2013 & 2014 Rooster T. Feathers New Talent Competition and has performed at other major comedy venues throughout the Bay Area.
Robbie Goodwin is a Los Angeles based stand up comedian who’s smart, irreverent comedy has entertained audiences in comedy clubs nationwide. Robbie cut his teeth doing stand up in San Francisco and Boston scenes, performing in clubs such as The Comedy Studio, The Purple Onion, Emerson’s Cabaret Theater, and featured in the 2013 Brown College Comedy Festival. Robbie currently co-hosts Lip Service, a weekly stand up showcase at the Westside Comedy Theater.
