The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by five of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Jessica Sele, Richard Toomer & Torio Van Grol. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.

Butch Escobar born and raised in San Jose California has been honing his comedy skills over the past decade. He is one of the most prominent comics in the Bay Area producing and performing multiple in shows including his monthly Unfiltered Underground at the San Jose Improv.
Butch has toured all over the country with great performers including Tom Green, Doug Stanhope, Bobby Lee, and Last Comic Standing winner Felipe Esparza. He Frequents southern California and is a regular fixture at the Hollywood Improv and the world famous Comedy Store on sunset Boulevard. With comedy based on his everyday life his comedy is constantly evolving.
Steve Post is a stand-up comic from Somerville, Massachusetts. Based in San Francisco, he performs all over the city. Considered to be one of the best up-and-coming comics by himself and close friends, you’re going to want to keep an eye on him! He’s had conversations Bill Burr, Bob Saget, and the actor who played Sean on “Boy Meets World” but worked with none of them. Clubs performed at include The Punchline, Cobb’s Comedy Club, Yoshi’s, and the Great American Music Hall. Formally trained as well, including the Bay Area Theater School, and Voice One. Steve is the host of the weekly stand-up showcase “the Tabernacle,” which is on Wednesdays at the Dark Room Theater. Also the host and personality of the weekly pod cast “Smarten Up,” which explores the DNA of hip-hop. Confident, yet self-loathing, Steve Post continues to impress audiences.
David has performed in the Bay Area, LA, and NYC at iconic venues like Cobb’s and The Purple Onion. He has written two Super Bowl commercials and worked with comedy legends like Bob Odenkirk, Larry Charles, and Jim Gaffigan.
