The Mission Position is a popular independent comedy showcase, hosted by four of San Francisco’s most accomplished comedians – Matt Lieb, Kate Willett, Trevor Hill and Jessica Sele. Every Thursday, audiences fill Lost Weekend Video’s famous CineCave comedy den, for a show that provides club-level talent without irritating drink minimums or filler comics. The Mission Position welcomes a new lineup of special guests every week that include the Bay Area’s brightest comics alongside nationally touring headliners from NBC, TBS, E! and Comedy Central.
“…the best comedy bargain in SF.” –SF Gate
Named one of the “Top 10 Events in San Francisco” by Time Out World (November 2014)
“The next great San Francisco comedy tradition.” –Courting Comedy
Barbara Holm has performed at the San Francisco Sketchfest, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot Arts festival, and the Women in Comedy Festival in Boston. She has written for IGN, The Portland Mercury, and the Huffington Post. She has been awarded Time Out New York’s Joke of the Week and was named “one of the best things about comedy″ by the Comedy Bureau. Her comedy has been described as clever and idiosyncratic. Seattle City Arts Magazine called her a “comedy wizard” and she describes herself as “running away from this question to hide under the desk right now.”
Brian was selected as a New Face at The 2014 Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He has also performed in many other festivals throughout the country including: Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival and San Francisco Sketchfest. He has a conspiracy theory – comedy podcast called The Unbelievable Podcast, is one-half of the sketch comedy group Frange & Stern, is the creator of Fake Film Sequels, and recently debuted his one-person sketch show “I’m From Long Island”.
Clare O’Kane is an actress and comedian from San Jose, California. She has performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and SF Sketchfest. She recently toured the great United States of America with some of her buds on the Shitty Kisses Comedy Tour. She has been described as “sarcastic” and “half-Asian”. When she’s not sneezing or whatever, Clare travels around the country to perform stand-up comedy and “seize the day”. Clare hopes to get that tattooed on her for free someday. She currently lives in Los Angeles, California with a guy and a cat.
Portland native, Gabe Dinger, has been making audiences laugh for the last 10 years. His sharp wit, irreverent observations, and ability to improvise make Gabe’s shows varied and exciting. He has performed at several comedy festivals, including: Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Bumbershoot, and SF Sketchfest. As a member of the improv troupe Whiskey Tango, he has also performed in the LA Improv Festival, SF Sketchfest, and the Del Close Marathon in New York City. More notably Gabe was the first comedian to perform at a high security prison in the state of Oregon. The Portland Mercury has called him a “Punchline machine.”
